Definition Formulas are built using one or multiple Components.
There are multiple types of Components available in Scratchplan:
A Numeric Formula Component is a number (integer or decimal).
A Reference Component is a powerful tool: it allows you to include the value of the same or a different indicator from the same or a different period in your formula.
Math Operator Components
Place a basic Math Operator Component between two numbers or references to execute additions, subtractions or other simple calculations.
Use advanced Math Operator Components to execute advanced calculations. Functions with an open bracket need to be closed by a closing bracket. Some formulas (such as 'Pow', 'Min' and 'Max') require more than one parameter, which are separated by a comma.
A Literal Equation Component will be inserted into a Formula exactly like specified by you. It enables you to use advanced mathematic operations, but may break your formula in case of syntax errors. It's recommended to prefer other component types.
